摘要： A package (320) comprising a stack of absorbent articles (20) which are bi- or tri-folded, and each article comprises a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core (28) between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent core comprises an absorbent layer comprising a central portion (60), a first side portion (61) and a second side portion (62), a first folding guide (261) between the central portion and the first side portion, and a second folding guide (262) between the central portion and the second side portion. Each side portion comprises a plurality of winglets (610-613, 620-623), each winglet having a proximal side (6200, 6210, 6220) relative to a folding guide and extending outward from this proximal side. Neighboring winglets are separated by a gap between their neighboring sides. When the absorbent core is folded along the folding guides, the central portion and the side portions form a three-dimensional basin and the gaps between the winglets decrease, the neighboring sides optionally coming into contact. The articles in the package are either bi-folded along a transversal fold line (90) and are compressed at an In-Bag Compression Rate of from 5% to 50%, or the articles are tri-folded along a first fold line (304) and a second fold line (306) parallel to the transversal direction.

The absorbent layer comprises a non-rectangular central portion (60) having a front edge (600), a back edge (602) and two longitudinally-extending side edges (604, 606), wherein each side edge defines a recess along a portion of its length; a first side portion (61) present in one of the recess and a second side portion (62) present in the other recess, wherein each side portion comprises a proximal edge (610, 620) relative to the central portion and a distal edge (611, 621) further away from the central portion. The proximal edges (610, 620) of the side portions are convex; and either the distal edges of the side portions are concave so that the side portions are crescent-shaped; or the distal edges of the side portions is straight, and optionally flush with the side edges of the central layer outside the portion of the longitudinal edge defining the recesses. The absorbent core further comprises a first folding guide (261) between the first side portion and the central portion, and a second folding guide (262), and when the absorbent core is folded along the folding guides, the central portion and the side portions form a three-dimensional basin.
