    • The invention relates to an arrangement (107; 207; 307) for controlling a compressed air line (4) of a vehicle assembly (101; 201; 301), comprising a controller (8) and at least one valve device (113a; 113b; 213a; 213b; 313a; 313b) which can be controlled by means of a control command (SB.w) of the controller (8) and which forms an outlet (36) into the atmosphere. The aim of the invention is to optimize the braking of the vehicle assembly. This is achieved in that the controller (8) is suitable for outputting one of at least four different control command values (SBW1, SBW2, SBW3, SBW4) of the control command (SB.w) as the current control command value. The controllable valve device (113a; 113b; 213a; 213b; 313a; 313b) is also suitable for assuming different positions (ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4) corresponding to the effect of the different control command values such that two sections (4.k, 4.k+1; 4.l, 4.l+1; 4.ma, 4.mb) of the compressed air line (4) are connected, separated, or open towards the atmosphere when the valve device (113a; 113b; 213a; 213b; 313a; 313b) is installed, or only one of the two sections is open towards the atmosphere.
