    • The inventive sheathed element glow plug (10) is characterised by a modified plug-in-caulk connection. Once the glow plug filament has been pre-positioned in the bead, the glow plug filament and the connecting bolt can be caulked. Alternatively, if the geometry of the bead is configured correspondingly, caulking is not necessary. The opening on the periphery of the connecting bolt in the area of the bead (20) makes the inner-lying contour of the bead radially and axially accessible. Organic lubricants can therefore be cleaned away thoroughly and a reliable inspection of the cleaning carried out. This results in a reduced number of premature defects of sheathed element glow plugs caused by organic impurities.
