摘要： An ink composition especially suited for ink jet printers that use bubble jet technology. The ink compositions contain pigments obtained by emulsion polymerization of sub-micron size particles dispersed in water. Either fluorescent or non-fluorescent dyes can be added to the pigments. Coalescing agents, or humectants, are added to the ink formulations to improve the film forming properties as well as prevent premature drying. Surfactants are added for dispersion stabilization.

摘要： New blue inks are provided for inkjet printing, especially using piezoelectric printers, on papers which are typically difficult to print with good quality, high-contrast images. The inks are characterized by a color of the ink (color illumination D65) of L*: about 37±5, a*: about 7±7, b*: about -27±8. The inks contain an aqueous vehicle including water and a humectant comprising a polyhydric alcohol, a penetrant, surfactant, and a blue dye. The relative amounts of the aqueous vehicle, the penetrant, the surfactant and the blue dye, are effective to provide an ink having a viscosity and surface tension effective for inkjet printing, especially for piezoelectric printing, having a viscosity of from about 2 to about 4 mPa·s and a surface tension of from 30 to 50 mN/m. Also provided are a process for printing an image and a printed image prepared using the ink.
