    • A registration plate assembly (70) for a compliant conveyance system is adapted for use in combination with an array of print heads (16) each having a print head nozzle (16N). The registration plate assembly (70) includes a mounting plate (72), a registration plate (18) affixed to the mounting plate and at least one runner (76) fastened to the mounting plate (72) and disposed within an opening (18A) defined by the registration plate (18). The mounting plate (72) has at least one aperture (72A) therein for accepting a print head nozzle (16N) associated with a respective print head and the registration plate (18) includes an opening (18A) for permitting the deposition of ink from each of the print head nozzles (16N). Each runner (76) is aligned with the feed path (FP) of the conveyance system and has a blade portion (76B) disposed at a location between adjacent print head nozzles (16N) and operative to maintain a stand-off distance between the face surface of each mailpiece (14) and one of the print head nozzles (16N).

    • An improved apparatus and method for cutting and processing sheets from a web of printed material comprising first and second side-by-side portions of sheets along a length of the web. A first transport is arranged to transport the web in a first horizontal direction. A web splitter (11) splits portions of the web as they are transported on the first transport. An extended path transport, in line with the first transport, transports the second portion of the web in an extended path (57). A direct path transport, in line with the first transport, transports the first portion of the web on a more direct path (56). As a result of these different paths sheets within the first and second web portions are re-sequenced in a manner suitable for processing by downstream modules, such as a right angle turn module (30).
