    • [Object] There is provided a method which enables an olefin polymer having high melting point and high molecular weight to be produced even at high temperature proper in an industrial production process. [Solution] A method for producing an olefin polymer is provided, the method including polymerizing an olefin having two or more carbon atoms in the presence of a catalyst for olefin polymerization, wherein the catalyst for olefin polymerization includes (A) a bridged metallocene compound represented by Formula [1] and (B) at least one compound selected from, for example, an organoaluminum oxy-compound and an organoaluminum compound:

    • A process for producing a syndiotactic α-olefin polymer having high racemic diad fraction and high molecular weight with excellent polymerization activity through a method permitting high-temperature polymerization. The production process comprises polymerizing a monomer that comprises at least one C3-10 α-olefin and a small amount of ethylene, in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising a transition metal compound (A) represented by the general formula [1], at least one compound (B) selected from an organoaluminum oxy-compound (b-1), a compound (b-2) that reacts with the transition metal compound (A) to form an ion pair and an organoaluminum compound (b-3), which process for producing a syndiotactic α-olefin polymer satisfies the relationship: 0.001≤P E /P O ≤0.030, provided that the molar amounts of ethylene and an α-olefin having 3 to 10 carbon atoms that are fed into a polymerization reactor under a polymerization temperature of not lower than 25°C are P E and P O , respectively.

    • The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for efficiently producing an olefin (co)polymer containing a constituent unit derived from 1-butene, the (co)polymer having a molecular weight that is sufficiently high even for high temperature conditions that are beneficial for industrial production methods. This purpose can be achieved by means of a method for producing an olefin (co)polymer containing a constituent unit derived from 1-butene, wherein at least 1-butene and, if necessary, an α-olefin having 2 or more carbon atoms (excluding 1-butene) and other monomers are (co)polymerized in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst that contains (A) a crosslinked metallocene compound represented by general formula [I] and (B) at least one type of compound selected from among (b-1) an organic aluminum oxy compound, (b-2) a compound that forms an ion pair upon a reaction with the crosslinked metallocene compound (A), and (b-3) an organic aluminum compound, at a polymerization temperature of 55-200°C and a polymerization pressure of 0.1-5.0 MPaG.
