    • The application relates to providing presence status of a second telephone subscriber to a first telephone subscriber in the form of an audible indication.
      When a user is engaged in a voice mail session a call-back option is commonly provided, allowing the user to conveniently place a call to a voice mail sender. However, in such instances, current presence information is not available to the user. This problem is solved in that in response to selection of the option to play the voice message, a voice mail server in the form of an adjunct application server sends a query to a presence query task (30) including the phone number of the voice mail sender. The presence query task uses the telephone number of the voice mail sender to query the sender's presence status (32). Then the presence query task maps the presence status to an appropriate pre-recorded audible presence status announcement (36). The pre-recorded audible presence status announcement is then forwarded to the adjunct application server (38) and is played by the adjunct application server to the user (40).

Data contexts having chronological user-generated content are established and maintained between different communication devices. An indication of current user-generated content of a data context is sent from a calling/initiating party to one or more receiving parties when a communication session is initiated. The indication of current user-generated content can then be used by the one or more receiving parties to determine whether the communication session is to be accepted and, if accepted, to quickly become familiar with the subject of the communication session.

    • In a system, individual employee records can be updated across multiple services by an administrator at the interface to a particular service. Multiple services may be provided with this capability. This will eliminate the need in the current art for a central directory that contains a service description that will be common across all services. The technology eliminates the need for the development of this directory and the training of administrators in its interface. Administrators may utilize their training in one service interface to update records across multiple services. This will enable the more rapid development of solutions utilizing services from multiple vendors. Administrators need not be trained on interfaces for all services but can apply routine global updates from a convenient and familiar interface.

    • A system and method for seamless exchange and interaction of multimedia content between communication devices (106, 110) in a network are disclosed. The method can include the discovery and identification of devices (110 )within proximity of a sending device (106). The found devices (110) can be authenticated through unique identifiers established during registration. Connection requirements can be determined based on the identifiers associated with the found devices (110) and the sending device (106). In turn, the sender can establish a connection with the found devices using the connection requirements. The sending device (106) can share or serve as a remote control to redirect and navigate the content, with a simple action or a gesture command, to the found device (110). The shared multimedia content, can either reside on the sender's mobile device (106) or on a remote server (502) within a connected network.
