摘要： In a four-cycle engine, the crankshaft (14) and the cam shaft (42) are disposed generally parallel to each other. Intake and exhaust ports (22, 21) are arranged in such a manner that a line (Y) passing through their centres is non-parallel to the axis (X) of the crankshaft (14). With this arrangement, intake and exhaust passages (32, 31) can be greatly shortened. Therefore, the intake efficiency as well as exhaust efficiency can be enhanced, thereby enhancing the performance of the engine. In an air-cooled engine, overheating of the engine is greatly restrained.

摘要： A muffler for small general-purpose engine is disclosed, in which an interior of a case comprising a pair of case halves (2,3) and disposed from front to rear in an entering direction of an exhaust gas, and coupled together is divided into a first chamber (13) and a second chamber (14) by a partition plate (17). An inlet (7) of the exhaust gas is provided closer to one end portion of the first case half in the longitudinal direction. An outlet (10) of the exhaust gas is provided closer to the other end portion of the second case half in the longitudinal direction. A recess (18) project toward the second chamber for guiding the exhaust gas from the inlet toward the other end portion is provided in the partition plate at opposite location of the inlet and at a laterally offset location of the case. A communication orifice is formed in the partition plate at a location offset from the recess and also offset closer to the one end portion than the inlet.

摘要： The invention provides a joint mechanism for a mowing machine which can easily be assembled and disassembled. A support member 1a of a casing 1 houses a cylindrical damper 3 which prevents vibration of a power unit A from being transmitted to a rod 10, a holder 2 to which the rod 10 is inserted and a clamp 4 which prevents the damper 3 and the holder 2 from falling off the support member 1a being inserted therein. The clamp 4 has flexible arms 4a which extend in the direction of an output shaft 11 of the power unit A, while an engagement hook 4b is formed on the tip of the arm 4a and an engagement hole 1b to which the engagement hook 4b of the clamp engages is provided on the support member 1a.
