    • The present invention relates to a reference electrode arrangement (10) for an electrochemical sensor (100; 200), in particular for a potentiometric sensor, comprising a reference half-cell chamber with a reference electrode (22) provided therein, wherein the reference half-cell chamber has a storage chamber (12), in which there is a reference electrolyte (24), at least when the reference electrode arrangement (10) is in a storing state, wherein the reference half-cell chamber also has a lock chamber (12), which is permeable at least with respect to allowing reference electrolyte (24) through into the vicinity of the reference half-cell chamber, wherein the storage chamber (12) is separated from the lock chamber (14) with respect to allowing reference electrolyte (24) through when the reference electrode arrangement (10) is in the storing state, wherein the reference electrode arrangement (10) is formed in such a way that a connection (32) that is permeable in terms of allowing reference electrode (24) through from the storage chamber (12) into the lock chamber (14) can be created between the storage chamber (12) and the lock chamber (14) in order to change the reference electrode arrangement (10) over from the storing state into an operating state.
