摘要： Embodiments of this application provide an encoding method, an encapsulation method, a display method, an apparatus, and an electronic device. The encoding method includes: obtaining a to-be-encoded image; determining N encoding scales (N is an integer greater than 1) for the image; determining an encoding parameter corresponding to each of the N encoding scales, to obtain N groups of encoding parameters; and encoding the image N times by using a preset single-scale encoder based on the N groups of encoding parameters to obtain N groups of bitstream data. In this way, the image is encoded to obtain the bitstream data with a small data amount (namely, the bitstream data with a low encoding scale), so that when a network fluctuates, the bitstream data corresponding to the image can arrive at a decoder side with a higher probability, thereby ensuring smoothness of video playing. If bitstream data with a high encoding scale is lost, decoding and playing at a playing end are not affected, and no artifact occurs. If the bitstream data can arrive at the decoder side, playing quality can be improved.

The method includes: acquiring a request message from a terminal, where the request message carries address information of multiple sub video screens; according to the address information, acquiring multiple substreams corresponding to the multiple sub video screens in a one-to-one manner; merging the multiple substreams into a single stream, and generating an indication message used to indicate a picture parameter of the single stream; and sending the single stream and the indication message to the terminal, so that the terminal decodes the single stream and displays decoded multiple sub video screens according to the indication message. In the embodiments of the present invention, by merging the multiple substreams into the single stream, the terminal is capable of displaying the multiple sub video screens by decoding the single stream, so that decoding switchover between the multiple substreams is not required, and therefore, decoding performance of the terminal can be improved.
