摘要： When plural copy groups including pairs exist, remote copying for pairs belonging to copy groups is suspended selectively on a copy group-to-copy group basis, instead of suspending remote copying in all the copy groups at once. A computer system has a host computer (100), plural first storage systems (1000, 1600) comprising plural first logical disks (1600), and plural second storage systems (2000, 2600) comprising plural second logical disks (2600). A first logical disk and a second logical disk paired with the first logical disk, and each pair belongs to either a first copy group or a second copy group. To selectively suspend remote copying on a copy group-to-copy group basis, one of the copy groups is specified first and then pairs belonging to this copy group are designated. The first storage systems comprising first logical disks of the designated pairs suspend remote copy processing for the designated pairs.

摘要： A remote copy system includes a plurality of first storage systems and a plurality of second storage systems. Each first storage system assigns a sequential number to write data received from the host and sends the write data with the sequential number to the second storage system. One of the first storage systems defers the processing of the write request received from the host and instructs each of the first storage systems to create a marker, whereupon each of the first storage systems defers the processing of the write request, creates a marker including a sequential number and having a marker number, and sends the marker to the second storage system. Each of the second storage systems, when receiving a marker from the first storage system, stores the marker number included in the marker. One of the second storage systems reads the marker number stored by each of the second storage systems and determines if the marker numbers are the same. All write data sets having the same marker number are then stored in logical volumes of said second storage devices.

摘要： The invention is a computer system capable of fast failover so that a service is stopped only for a brief period of time from a failure in a first site. The computer system includes a primary site for regular operation and a secondary site that operating when the primary site fails. A primary storage (150) and a secondary storage (250) have a synchronization unit () to make contents stored in the primary storage and contents stored in the secondary storage identical to each other. A client (300) has a cache (303) for recording address information (e.g. DNS) that gives the client an access to the server from which the service is provided and information that defines a time to live of the address information. A first server (100) has a primary request log processing unit (101), which instructs the client to shorten the recorded time to live of the address information when communication with the secondary site is detected to be impossible.
