    • Control device for motor-vehicle gearboxes, including two electric motors (6, 7) arranged to operate the selection rod (2) and the rod for engaging (3) the gear ratios in response to the operation of the gear lever (4), through an electronic processing unit (9) connected to means for detecting operating conditions (10-15, 25) correlated directly and indirectly with the selection and engagement of the gear ratios and to means (16, 17, 18) for setting the gear ratios operated by the gear lever. The processing unit operates the electric motors corresponding to the engagement of the selected gear ratio only when the operating conditions detected are compatible with this selected gear ratio.

    • A four-wheel drive transmission system for motor vehicles having a front engine and gear-box disposed transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle, including a front differential (3) and an intermediate differential (18) both contained in a casing rigidly secured to the gear-­box casing, with the intermediate differential (18) disposed within a portion (9a) of the said gear-box cas­ing and the front differential (3) contained in a separate casing (9b) fixed to the gear-box casing (9a). The planet carriers (10,19) of the front differential (3) and the intermediate differential (18) have respective tubular hubs (10b,19c) coaxial with one of the half-shafts (6b) of the front wheels of the vehicle connectible together for rotation by means of a slip-limiting device (26) of the intermediate differ­ential. This slip-limiting device (26) is housed in a casing (27) fixed to the said separate casing (9b) and having a quick-release axial cover (28) disposed at the outer end of the said half-shaft (6b).
