    • A scintillation detector, more particularly for a radio metric measuring device for measuring and/or monitoring a measurement variable, more particularly a filling level of a filling material (1) situated in a container (3), is described which can cover a measurement region that can be predefined as flexibly as possible in terms of form and length. For this purpose, the scintillation detector comprises two or more scintillators (11) which are strung together in a series and which convert radioactive radiation impinging thereon into light flashes, the light of which propagates in the respective scintillator toward the ends thereof. Optical coupling elements (13) are arranged between the scintillators (11) and bring about a light-transmitting connection between the two scintillators (11) adjacent thereto. A photoelectric transducer (15) is connected at one end of the series and converts light impinging thereon via the series into an electrical signal corresponding to a radiation intensity impinging on the scintillators (11). According to the invention, at least one of the coupling elements (13) is a mechanically flexible element comprising a bundle of light-guiding fibres (17) via which the light is transmitted between the two scintillators (11) connected to one another via the fibres (17).

    • The invention relates to a radiometric measuring device for measuring a physical measurement variable, in particular a filling level or a density, of a filling material (1) in a container (3) and/or for monitoring whether the physical measurement variable exceeds or falls below a preset limiting value by way of a radioactive emitter (5) which, during operation, sends radioactive radiation through the container (3), and by way of a detector (7) which is arranged at a side of the container (3) opposite to the emitter (5) and which is used for detecting a radiation intensity which depends on the physical measurement variable and penetrates the container (3) and for converting said radiation intensity into an electrical output signal, by means of said measuring device a very accurate measurement of the radiation intensity can be performed in a region that is located within the measurement range of the detector (7) and that can be defined in a very flexible manner. To this end, a detector (7) is provided which has a support (9, 37) onto which at least one scintillation fiber (11) is coiled which converts impinging radiometric radiation into light flashes, the light of which spreads toward the ends (E1, E2) of the respective scintillation fiber (11), the support comprising at least one array (13, 13') of avalanche photo diodes (APD) which are operated according to the Geiger mode and which convert impinging light into an electrical signal, at least one end (E1, E2) of each scintillation fiber (11) being connected to avalanche photo diodes (APD) of an array (13, 13'), the support further comprising measuring device electronics that are connected to the avalanche photo diodes (APD) and generate the electrical output signal on the basis of the electrical signals provided by the avalanche photo diodes (APD).

    • A radiometric measuring device is described for measurement of a physical parameter of a fill material (1) located in a container, and for output of a measured signal which corresponds to a measured value of the physical parameter. Said measuring device has a single line pair (17) via which power is supplied to the entire measuring device and via which the transmission of the measured signal occurs, and has a radioactive emitter (5) which, during operation, sends radioactive radiation through the container (3), and has a detector (7) with a scintillator (9) and a photomultiplier (11) which is used to detect a radiation intensity penetrating through the container (3)as a function of the physical parameter to be measured, and to convert said parameter into an electric output signal (N), with measuring device electronics (15) which are used to create the measured signal (M) based on the electric output signal (N) of the detector (7) and to make available said measured signal via the line pair (17), with an energy accumulator (27) powered via the line pair (17), with a controller (45) which triggers measurement phases as a function of the energy available via the line pair (17) and the energy accumulator (27), during which the measuring device measures the physical parameters, and which puts in operation the photomultiplier (11) exclusively during the measurement phases, wherein the large voltages needed for operation of the photomultiplier (11) are created during the measurement phases by means of a high voltage cascade (31).
