摘要： In a headlight optical axis adjusting apparatus and method for a vehicle, the shape of a road in front of the vehicle is detected by a CCD camera (19) based on a change in lane marking line (100L, 100R) which indicates the lane width on the road, before the steering angle of a vehicle steering wheel (15) is detected by a steering angle sensor (16). Left and right swivel lights (11L and 11R) of the vehicle are swiveled and adjusted based on the change in the lane marking line or the steering angle. The optical axis of the left or right swivel light (11L or 11R) is first swiveled and adjusted based on the change in the lane marking line. The driver's forward visibility can thus be improved before the driver turns the steering wheel (15).

摘要： In a discharge lamp lighting apparatus for a discharge lamp (4), each circuit component (13-22) including a starter transformer (13) is assembled to a bus bar casing (25), and a high voltage terminal (131) of the starter transformer is connected to one end of a connecting terminal (24). The bus bar casing is adhesive-cemented to a metal base (26) to which a HIC (22) is attached. Then, a sealing resin fills the bus bar casing to seal the starter transformer and the HIC with the sealing resin. After the sealing resin solidifies, the other end of the connecting terminal and an output cable (27) are connected, and subsequently a resin cover (12) is assembled to the metal base. A shielding sheath (127) covering the output cable is fixed to the bus bar casing by a clip (128). A ground connection part (23c) of the bus bar connectable to the ground side of an electric power source (1) is shaped to protrude from the bus bar casing. The cover, the clip, the ground connection part and the base are ground-connected by a thread (126).

摘要： A hybrid IC (1000) of electronic circuit for a discharge lamp (2) is disposed on the bottom of a metal case (20). A transformer (41), an inductor (31), a transformer (71), and a capacitor (45) are disposed in a resin case (21). The resin case is contained in a metal case (20). In this instance, the transformer, the inductor, the transformer, and the capacitor are located outside the outer periphery of the IC so that the IC does not overlap on the transformer and other components. The transformer (71) for a starter circuit (7) has a secondary winding (71b) the inductance of which is 2.5 mH or larger, and a capacitance (C1) of a smoothing capacitor (44) of a DC-DC converter (4) is 0.5 mu F or smaller. The switching frequency f of a MOS transistor (43) is selected so that L2xC1 is equal to or larger than 1x10 xf .
