      the lowering from time to time of the transfer element (21) by a value substantially correlated to the height of the layer (20) located on the rods (14);
      the progressive formation of a bundle (11) consisting of a desired number of layers (20) by means of a sequential formation of a single layer (20) on the discharge rods (14) and the subsequent unloading of the single layer (20) onto the transfer element (21);
      the discharge of the bundle (11) to a storage, tying and/or discharge station (23).
