摘要： The invention aims at providing a process for recovering high-purity bis(2-hydroxylethyl) terephthalate (BHET) efficiently from an ethylene glycol (EG) solution containing crude BHET, particularly a depolymerization solution obtained by depolymerizing a polyester comprising polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as the main component with EG, while suppressing the formation of impurities such as diethylene glycol (DEG), DEG esters and oligomers. The invention relates to a process for the purification of BHET which comprises crystallizing the depolymerization solution under specified temperature conditions and subjecting the obtained mixture to solid-liquid separation, and to a process for the purification of BHET which comprises the evaporation step of evaporating low-boiling components from the depolymerization solution under specified conditions to thereby obtain a melt and the molecular distillation step of distilling the obtained melt under specified conditions and recovering a specific fraction.

摘要： Bis-β-hydroxyethyl terephthalate which has such a purity to provide an optical density of 0.000 to 0.006 at a wave length of 380 nm as measured under conditions wherein a cell optical path length is 10 mm and use is made of a methanol solution thereof having a concentration of 10 wt %. It has been found that a purified BHET having an optical density of 0.006 or less at a wave length of 380 nm can yield a high quality PET being excellent in purity, whiteness, transparency and the like.

摘要： A method of deionizing a solution obtained by the decomposition of a polyester with ethylene glycol. The solution is inhibited from suffering transesterification and hydrolysis. The decrease in yield, decrease in purity, etc. are diminished. The solution obtained by the decomposition is contacted with a cation exchanger at a temperature of 100°C or lower for a residence time of 5 to 60 minutes and then contacted with an anion exchanger within 30 minutes.

摘要： A process for production of high-purity bis-β-hydroxyethyl terephthalate, which comprises the step (1) of esterifying crude terephthalic acid with ethylene glycol and/or ethylene oxide to obtain a reaction product containing bis-β-hydroxyethyl terephthalate, the step (2) of converting the reaction product formed in the step (1) into a solution of bis-β-hydroxyethyl terephthalate (solute) in ethylene glycol (solvent), if necessary, with additional ethylene glycol, and then removing ions from the solution to form a deionized solution, the step (3) of distilling the deionized solution formed in the step (2) to recover crude bis-β-hydroxyethyl terephthalate with low-boiling matter distilled away, and the step (4) of subjecting the crude bis-β-hydroxyethyl terephthalate obtained in the step (3) to molecular distillation to recover bis-β-hydroxyethyl terephthalate as distillate.
