    • A circuit breaking method of a gas-blown circuit breaker (1) comprising an interruption chamber with an arcing zone. An amount of insulating gas is stored and pre-compressed in a second heating volume (25) of the interruption chamber. The second heating volume is fluidly connected with the arcing zone and the first heating volume (13) that is fluidly connected with the arcing zone (9), too. After arc generation the amount of insulating gas in the second heating volume is pressurized by heated insulating gas entering the second heating volume from the arcing zone. The heated insulating gas entering the second heating volume from the arcing zone is guided by a gas guiding means (23) of the second heating volume such that it is suppressed from mixing with the stored amount of insulating gas in the second heating volume by a gas guiding means of the second heating volume.
