    • The invention relates to a vehicle pedal unit (10), comprising a base element (12) and a pedal element (14) pivotably attached to the base element. In order to reduce the risk of injury to the driver in the event of a crash in a simple manner over the entire range of use, the base element (12) has at least one first and one second part (20, 24). The first part (20) is coupled to the pedal element (14) by means of a pivot axis (16).
