摘要： In one arrangement a water heater construction includes a generally cylindrical inner tank (21) surrounded by a layer of insulation (22). The third component is an outer shell (23) which is configured as a hinged combination of two halves (23a, 23b) or flexible skin (65) which can be opened radially so that the outer shell may be placed around the layer of insulation and inner tank and closed to compress the insulation without requiring any relative axial movement between the outer shell and the inner tank. In an alternate arrangement a thermal insulating jacket (205) includes a flexible outer covering (208) bonded to an alternating series of insulation strips (206, 207). The insulation strips include a first plurality (206) of flexible material and a second plurality (207) of rigid material. These strips are arranged in alternating sequence and the combination is sufficiently flexible and formable so as to be wrapped into a generally cylindrical shape.

摘要： An enclosure panel (41) for covering the access opening in an equipment compartment (31) includes a main panel body which is constructed and arranged so as to attach directly to the equipment compartment in such a way as to substantially cover the access opening (32). The main panel body defines a plurality of oblong slots (43) which are arranged into a plurality of side-by-side columns wherein each column is configured with a substantially uniform herringbone pattern (42). The herringbone pattern provides a unique and preferred compromise between a uniform pattern of oblong slots arranged in columns and rows and a uniform pattern of circular openings arranged in staggered rows and columns. By use of the uniform herringbone pattern (42) the open area for preferred cooling air flow is achieved while at the same time maintaining the structural strength and integrity of the enclosure panel (41).
