摘要： A holding device(20) for thermoplastic bags(50) utilizes bags having side panels(52) and a reclosable seal at one end thereof, the reclosable seal comprising a pair of opposed interlocking closure strips(56) and a slider(58) for opening and closing the closure strips(56). The holding device(20) comprises a support surface and a pair of elongate holding members (23,24) each having a proximal portion(33) adjacent the support surface and a distal portion(34) wherein the holding members define a channel(36) therebetween. The channel(36) has a first section(25) for receiving and enclosing a portion of the slider and a second section(26) for receiving only the closure strips(56) but not the slider(58). The channel(36) further has a slot(30) formed by the distal portions(34) of the holding members (23,24) wherein the slot(30) has a width sufficient to allow the side panels(52) of the thermoplastic bag(50) to enter the slot(30) but prevent passage of the closure strips(56) through the slot (30) .

摘要： Methods for forming a thermoplastic film with an attached closure strip are disclosed. The thermoplastic film can then be used to produce zippered reclosable plastic bags. The methods include providing a thermoplastic film web (10) having a sealing surface (12, 13) and providing a closure strip (21) having a binding surface (26, 36), both being maintained in a non-melted condition at room temperature. A heated thermoplastic binder layer (28a, 28b) is then extruded and positioned between the sealing surface (12, 13) of the film web (10) and the binding surface (26, 36) of the closure strip (21) very quickly after extrusion. The hot freshly extruded binder layer (28a, 28b) transfers enough heat to the closure strip (21) and to the film web (10) to melt the binding surface (26, 36) of the closure strip (21) and sealing surface (12, 13) of the film web (10). Pressure is then applied to the film web (10) and the closure strip (21) to seal the closure strip (21) to the film web (10). An apparatus (40, 50) for practicing the method at high speed is also disclosed.

摘要： A reclosable fastener assembly includes first and second elongated closure elements that are engageable to form a seal. A slider is slidable relative to the closure elements between an open position and a closed position and is adapted (i) to engage the closure elements to one another when moved across the closure elements toward the closed position and (ii) to disengage the closure elements from one another when moved across the closure elements toward the open position. The slider carries a first partial indicator. A second partial indicator is located relative to the closure elements to as to complement the first partial indicator to form a visual indicator when the slider is in the closed position.

摘要： A reclosable fastener assembly comprising a first fastener strip (14), a second fastener strip (15) and a slider (10). The first fastener strip has an inner surface and an outer surface, including at least an uppermost closure element (16a) and a bottommost closure element (16b) positioned along the length of the inner surface. The second fastener strip has an inner surface and an outer surface, including at least an uppermost closure element (17a) and a bottommost closure element (17b) positioned along the length of the inner surface. The closure elements along the second fastener strip are adapted to engage with the closure elements along the first fastener strip, thereby interlocking the second fastener strip with the first fastener strip. The slider has a top (20) and side (21, 22) walls depending from opposite sides of the top for receiving the fastener strips therebetween, the side walls extending downward from the top to a point below the uppermost closure elements, so that at least a portion of the fastener strips are held between the side walls. The side walls also extend from a separating end (10a) of the slider to a pinching end (10b). Pinching means are positioned proximate to the pinching end. The slider also includes a separating leg (23) depending from the top between the first and second side walls at the separating end of the slider. The separating leg penetrates at least one of the uppermost closure elements of the first or second fastener strips, but not the bottommost closure elements.
