    • A winding shaft (10) of a peg is composed of a base shaft portion (11) connected to a worm gear (31) and an adjustable shaft portion (12) in threaded engagement with the base shaft portion. A locking screw member (13), which can be operated from outside, is threaded into the base shaft portion (11), and the locking screw member (13) is able to apply strong pressure acting in the axial direction to the bottom surface of the adjustable shaft portion (11) after the shaft length has been adjusted. The construction enables the shaft length of the winding shaft to be adjusted to obtain a desirable angle between a string wound on the shaft and the surface of a head portion of a stringed instrument.

    • A tremolo device for a stringed instrument, comprises a base (20) with a number of string receiving members (51) mounted thereon and a block (30) in which the ends of the strings (50) are engaged. The strings (50) pass through holes (31) in the base (20) and the block, and the holes (31) are shaped so that the strings (50) do not contact any part of the tremolo device other than the string receiving members (51) and string engaging regions of the block. Preferably the holes (31) are shaped such that at least one wall (312) extends substantially parallel to the string (50). Preferably, the string receiving members (51) are formed as grooved rollers, to reduce friction on the string.

    • A connector has an engaging member 30 attached to a harness and a receiving member 30 attached to a string instrument. To engage and release the receiving member 40 a knob 36 on the engaging member 30 is rotated.
      An insertion cylinder 311 is provided on the engaging member 30. A pair of engaging arms 32 are attached thereto. These engaging arms are fitted to a fitting groove 42 on an inner wall of an engaging cylinder 41. The knob 36 of the engaging member 30 is rotated by a predetermined angle. A large diameter part 331 and a small diameter part 332 of a rotatable shaft 33 provided within the insertion cylinder 311 can be positioned alternately between the above mentioned pair of engaging arms 32,32. Thus, the engaging arms 32 are engaged with and disengaged from the fitting groove 42.

    • A neck straightener for a stringed instrument comprises a reinforcing member 10 with a U-shaped cross section and an actuating rod 20, assembled in parallel. The length of the actuating rod 20 with reference to the reinforcing member 10 may be increased or decreased by clockwise or counterclockwise rotation of a threaded sleeve 30. The actuating rod 20 has a pushing block 40 having a surface 41 which contacts the reinforcing member 10, and a surface 42 which contacts the bottom 521 of a groove 52 in which the straightener is accommodated. The surfaces 41 and 42 are kept in contact with the centres of warp of the neck part 51. A partly cutaway part 13, which has a length including the pushing block 40 and is formed by a curved edge portion 131, is provided on both side walls of the reinforcing member 10.
