    • The present invention relates to a system for detecting and diagnosing a faultive state of an airplane engine and a method thereof, comprising: at least one vibration sensor attached to an airplane; a reference model database construction unit which generates a sine wave type virtual input data having a period corresponding to a rotor speed of an airplane engine using nonfaulty vibration data of the vibration sensor and the rotor speed of the airplane engine, obtains a parameter of a reference model on the basis of an input/output data set obtained through an extraction of output data from vibration data of a proper uniform velocity period corresponding to a period of the virtual input data, and constructs a reference model database by obtaining a covariance of a parameter estimation error reflecting an upper limit of uncertainty of the model using statistical properties such as the input/output data, the input/output data obtained from another section of the nonfaulty vibration data, a noise variation of the vibration sensor, and the like; and a fault detection and diagnosis unit which estimates a parameter of a model using suspicious data from the vibration sensor, obtains a test variable and a numerator coefficient value difference of a transfer function between the models using a parameter of the estimated suspicious model, the parameter of the reference model, and the covariance of the parameter estimation error, and diagnoses the faultive state and the faultive cause of the airplane engine. Accordingly, the present invention can determine the faultive state and the detective cause of the airplane engine using the vibration data of the airplane engine.
