摘要： A night light assembly (10) which plugs into and is supported by an electrical wall outlet (11) whose orientation on the wall is either horizontal or vertical. The assembly, when switched on, produces low-level illumination and at the same time exudes an aromatic vapor. The assembly includes a reflector shell (17) having housed therein a low-wattage bulb (B). Attached to the open front of the shell is a frame (28) adapted to accommodate a removable window cartridge (35) having a transparent plate (36) whose rear face is covered by a thin pad (37) of light-permeable porous material impregnated with a volatile aromatic liquid. The shell is vented, and as the air therein is heated and expanded by heat emanating from the bulb, a convection current is produced which flows across the pad to volatilize the liquid, thereby creating an aromatic vapor that is discharged through the vent. Adherable to the front face of the window plate is a translucent sheet (15) having a picture (16) thereon of an object possessing a characteristic odor, the fragrance of the aromatic vapor being thematically related thereto. The sheet is so adhered to the plate as to orient the picture thereon to conform to the existing orientation of the outlet into which the assembly is plugged.

摘要： An automobile cigarette lighter adapted to generate an aromatic vapor, the lighter being releasably retained within a dashboard socket having terminals therein connected to the battery of the vehicle. The lighter is constituted by a cylindrical shell having telescoped therein a spring-biased plunger. A disc-shaped heater element attached to the front end of the plunger is normally disposed at a position spaced from the socket terminals. A knob attached to the rear of the plunger projects beyond the rear end of the shell. When the knob is pressed in by a user, the plunger is advanced relative to the shell to cause the heater contact to engage the socket terminals and to be latched thereto by a bimetallic element, thereby activating the heater. When the heat generated thereby reaches a level causing the bimetallic element to bend, it releases the plunger which then returns to its normal inactive position. Formed in the plunger and the knob is a central duct extending from the heater element to an end opening in the knob. Receivable in the duct is a replaceable tubular cartridge having a heat-responsive, aroma-producing member therein which is activated by the heat to exude an aromatic vapor into the interior of the vehicle.

摘要： A disc-playing aroma generator whose appearance and function are analogous to those of a phono disc record player, the user when playing a selected aromatic disc enjoying an olfactory rather than an auditory experience. Each aromatic disc houses a supply of a liquid fragrance whereby when the disc is inserted in the player, an aromatic vapor is then discharged into the atmosphere. The disc is formed by a circular sheet of absorbent material impregnated with the liquid fragrance and sandwiched between a pair of annular plastic films which are peripherally joined to create a central zone exposing the impregnated sheet. In the player, heated air under positive pressure is forced through the central zone to volatilize the liquid to produce a vapor which is discharged through vents in the casing of the player. The aromatic disc is packaged in a transparent sleeve having circular spindle labels on both sides thereof which overlie the central zone to impart thereto the appearance of a conventional phone record and serving to identify the fragrance.

摘要： A variable-weight playball whose outer casing (10) is formed of liquid-impervious, flexible material, having closable port (14) therein. Confined within the casing (10) is a compressible body (11) having the same configuration which depends on whether the ball is spherical or in some other shape. The body is formed of low-density, open-cell, flexible foam plastic material having sponge-like properties. To impart heft to the ball, water is introduced through the port (14) into the body and absorbed thereby, the port then being closed to retain the water. To thereafter lighten the ball, the port is opened and the ball is squeezed to discharge water through the port until the ball has the desired reduced weight, after which the port is closed. The casing may be contoured, printed or otherwise arranged so that the ball simulates the head of a humanoid or animal-like character having a mouth. The port (26) of the casing is integrated with the mouth of the character so that when water is added to the ball, it is seemingly introduced through the mouth.

摘要： A reversible fragrance emitting unit adapted to rest on a table or other flat surface in either an upright position in which the rate of fragrance emission is low, or in an upside down position in which the emission rate is high, the unit having the same attractive outward appearance in either state. The unit consists of a fenestrated open-ended shell having a decorative form whose inlet and outlet ends are attached to inlet and outlet boxes of like dimensions, both having bottom walls. The inlet box has an open top, whereas the outlet box is closed by a top wall to define an internal chamber which extends through the shell between the bottom wall of the inlet box and the top wall of the outlet box. The chamber contains a charge of fragrance-emitting pellets in an amount sufficient to almost fill the inlet box when the unit is placed in its upright position in which the inlet box rests on the table and the pellets are confined within the inlet box and therefore emit relatively little fragrance, the unit being effectively "off". When, however, the unit is reversed to occupy its upside down position in which the outlet box rests on the table, the pellets then occupy the shell and emit fragrance through the openings therein at a much greater rate and the unit is "on".
