    • A wrap filling mechanism comprises a wrap holder (12) and, above the wrap holder, a telescopic chute (10,11) the lower or mouth part (11) of which is lowered to engage into the open upper end of a wrap (17). The lower part of the chute fits telescopically inside the upper part (10), and the chute is lined with a flexible lining sleeve (36) attached at its upper end (35) to a fixed portion (10) of the chute and at its lower end (34) to a movable portion (11) of the chute. The lining sleeve covers the upwardly facing top end (32) of the lower part of the chute so that the bouquets cannot catch thereon. Although the lining sleeve may wrinkle when the lower part of the chute is retracted, it will be at its full extension and substantially smooth when the lower part of the chute is lowered into the wrap, and there will therefore be little risk of the bouquet catching on it.

Delivery station control means (a timer, or an alignment sensor) ensure that the egg in the delivery station is aligned before the egg is released. The eggs roll down a slight incline to the bottom edge of the tray, which by the manner of its oscillation aligns the eggs. The exit of the eggs from the delivery station may be controlled to rotate the egg in a direction dependent on its orientation so as to orient the egg into a predetermined orientation, or the eggs can be directed to two different cassettes in dependence on their orientation.

    • A wrap filling mechanism comprises a wrap holder 12 with a chute 10, 11 above it. Blower means 29 provide a downward air pressure in the chute. This downward air pressure provides a force additional to gravity, resulting in expansion of the wrap to its full extent and a more reliable passage of the bouquets 27 through the chute and into the wraps. Flap means 25 are opened to allow the passage of a bouquet and closed to raise the pressure behind the bouquet after it has passed the flap means. The flap means may be positively controlled, eg by bouquet position sensors and opening and/or closing actuators, or may be passively operated by the force of a bouquet being pushed against it and spring-loading.
