    • A mat for stock-raising 1 comprises an upper rubber layer 10 and lower rubber layer 20. As a multi-functional ceramics 14 contained in the upper rubber layer 10 has an effect of irradiating far-infrared radiation, it irradiates an infrared radiation by receiving the heat from gas heater 3. Since the alminium 24 contained in the lower rubber layer 20 has high heat-reflective property, it prevents the spreading of heat from upper layer side to lower layer side. And a mat for stock-raising 1 comprises a upper layer 100, a middle layer 200 and a lower layer 300. The functional ceramics 140 contained in the upper layer 100 irradiate far-infrared radiation by the heat received from the gas heater 3 as it has an effect of irradiating far-infrared radiation. The middle layer 200 having insulative property prevents the heat spreading from upper layer side to lower layer side in order not to loose the heat. By the use of the mats of the present invention, the efficient heating of pigs on the mats can be achieved.

    • In a gas heater, a ceramic heater(40) is used to ignite gas supplied to a gas burner(14). The ceramic heater(40) is disposed in flame while the gas is burnt such that a change in the resistance value of the ceramic heater(40) is sensed by a resistance value sensor(54) to detect a flame extinction. Since the resistance value is varied between ceramic heaters(40), the deviation of the resistance value is compensated for depending on a reference value at a reference temperature of the ceramic heater so as to detect the flame extinction.

    • In an ignition system for sensing a change in a resistance value during a combustion of a heating resistive element (40) and detecting a fire extinction, a resistance value of the heating resistive element (40) is sensed by a a resistance value detecting circuit (54) at a predetermined time interval set by an interval setting circuit (70), and a difference between the resistance value and that sensed before an elapse of the predetermined period of time is calculated by a resistance value calculating circuit (74). A comparing circuit (78) compares a difference in the resistance values with a reference value stored in a reference value memory (72), and a extinction detecting circuit (52) detects a fire extinction when the difference calculated by the resistance value difference calculating circuit (74) had exceeded the reference value. Accordingly, there is attained an ignition system which reasonably determines a fire extinction without an additional complex structure.
