    • A fluid is satisfactorily mixed, satisfactory mixing can be performed even when the flow rate of the fluid is high and suitable utilization in various devices can be realized.
      A stacked member (2) in which a plurality of mixing elements (21 a) are stacked and a first plate (3) and a second plate (4) that sandwich the stacked member (2) are provided. The mixing element (21 a) includes a plurality of first through holes (22) penetrating in a direction of thickness; a fluid is passed between the stacked mixing elements in a radial direction. The first plate (3) and the second plate (4) block the first through holes (22) at both ends of the stacked member in the stacking direction, and thus the flow of the fluid is achieved. The fluid is wound and passed through the first through holes (22), and thus it is possible to perform sufficient mixing.

    • A ball screw and a linearly movable apparatus using the ball screw. The ball screw comprises a thread shaft (1), a nut member (2) and a tubular retainer (3) interposed between the thread shaft and the nut member so as to be freely, relatively rotatable in relation to them. The retainer has a plurality of ball retaining holes which are formed so as to correspond with the thread grooves, for retaining the balls in such a manner that the balls are exposed from the inner and outer surfaces of the retainer. The ball retaining holes have such a size as to hold balls (100) in a freely rotatable condition. The outer ends of peripheral walls defining the ball retaining holes face the inside of the thread groove of the nut member. At least the minimum spacing between the outer ends of the peripheral walls is smaller than the diameter of the balls, and the thread shaft (1) is longer than the nut member (2). With the above arrangement, the load sustainable by the nut member in an axial direction can be increased. In addition, the reciprocating linear movement of the nut member can be smoothly performed by the rotation of the thread shaft without formation of a ball return passage in cases where the distance of the linear movement of the nut member is short.

    • An object is to provide a method for manufacturing a structure that can be formed to decrease the width of a junction portion in friction stir welding, a structure and an heat exchanger.
      There is provided a method for manufacturing a structure (1) in which an edge portion (5) of the structure (1) formed by stacking a plurality of members (2, 3) is friction stir welded. The manufacturing method includes: a welding step of forming a friction stir welded portion (6) substantially equal to a shoulder diameter by bringing a friction stir welding tool (7) from a side of a surface of a member (3) on one side into contact with a superposition portion of works (W) in which the members (2, 3) are stacked while rotating the friction stir welding tool (7); and a cutting step of cutting the friction stir welded portion (6), and in each of two or more works (W) produced by the cutting, a welded portion (61) of the edge portion (5) of the structure is formed with the cut friction stir welded portion (6).
