摘要： A molded elastomeric sleeve (14) is secured on the rear portion (12) of a conventional socket (10) for a hand ratchet wrench. Size indicia (18) are carried by the sleeve (14) for ready identification of the socket, and knurls (17) on the sleeve facilitate a manual gripping of the socket for rotation thereof, whenever desired. In a preferred embodiment, the sleeve (14) has a radially-projecting boss (34) provided with a rim and a recess therein. A pressure-sensitive adhesive label (40), which carries the size indicia, is disposed within the recess below the rim on the boss. An internal annular groove (38) is formed in the sleeve adjacent to the socket, and an adhesive (30) is injected into the internal annular groove (38) via at least one passageway (39) formed in the sleeve. The passageway (39) opens into the recess in the boss on the socket, and the passageway (39) is subsequently covered by the pressure-sensitive adhesive label (40).
