摘要： A suture anchor for anchoring a suture to bone is a cannulated elongate member that includes a proximal component (12, 112) which can have external threads (18, 118), a distal component (14, 114), and an intermediate component (16, 116) positioned between the distal component and the proximal component. The proximal and distal components can each be configured to move independent of one another and to move relative to the intermediate component. In this way, the proximal, intermediate, and distal components of the suture anchor can be configured to cooperate with one another to prevent removal of the suture anchor from a bone hole in which the suture anchor is disposed and to lock a suture relative to the suture anchor and to the bone hole. When disposed within a bone hole with a suture, the anchor has a first configuration in which the proximal component is threadably engaged with the bone hole, and the suture is locked by the threads but freely slidable through the intermediate component, and a second configuration in which the distal component is advanced and expanded proximally over the intermediate component, and the suture is engaged between the distal component and the intermediate component.

摘要： Methods and devices are provided for anchoring suture to bone. In one exemplary embodiment, a suture anchor (100) is provided that includes a proximal component (112), a distal component (114), and an intermediate component (116) positioned between the distal component and the proximal component. The proximal and distal components can each be configured to move independent of one another and to move relative to the intermediate component. 摘要： A suture anchor comprises a tubular body having an axial bore therethrough and having one or more purchase enhancements on an exterior surface of the body adapted to enhance purchase of the body within a bone hole, such as threads. A lateral port passes through the body from the bore to the exterior surface and is formed of a slot entering the body from its proximal end. A length of suture for attaching soft tissue to bone passes down along the exterior surface over the one or more purchase enhancements, over a distal end of the body, up into the bore through and then back out of the bore and up along the exterior surface over the one or more purchase enhancements.

摘要： A method and system is provided for passing a suture anchor through a soft tissue and into a bone. The method includes the steps of locating a desired anchor receiving site on the bone; passing a locating wire through the soft tissue and into the bone at the anchor receiving site and passing over the locating wire an inner/outer cannula system which includes an inner cannula having a sharp distal tip, and an axial lumen therethrough sized to accommodate the positioning wire and an outer cannula having a distal end, and an axial lumen therethrough sized to accommodate the inner cannula and coaxially receiving the inner cannula, the distal end being tapered wherein to present a gradually increasing profile and wherein the distal tip of the inner cannula extends distally beyond the end of the distal end of the outer cannula. The sharp distal tip of the inner cannula passes through the soft tissue to create an opening therethrough and the tapered distal end of the outer cannula passes through the opening to expand the opening and minimize removal, cutting and disturbance of the tissue as it passes therethrough. The suture anchor passes through the outer cannula and is driven into the bone at the anchor site.

摘要： A suture anchor driver has an elongated shaft, a handle at a proximal end of the shaft an anchor engagement at a distal end of the shaft and a clutch between the handle and the shaft. The clutch includes a slot for frictionally engaging a suture an engagement with the shaft and an engagement with the handle. The engagement with the shaft and the engagement with the handle are located with respect to one another such that driving torque applied to the handle urges open the slot to release its frictional engagement of the suture.

摘要： A system and method for attaching tissue to bone are provided. In one embodiment, a system for attaching tissue to bone includes a suture, suture anchor, inserter tool, drill, and drill guide having an outer guide (22) and an inner guide (24). A method for attaching tissue to bone includes attaching a suture to tissue, nesting the suture in a notch on the distal end of the outer guide, passing the suture through a lumen formed in the outer guide, and inserting an inner guide in a lumen formed in the outer guide. The drill guide protects the suture from rotational movement of the drill and allows a user to maintain alignment between the drill guide and the drilled hole. As a result, a suture anchor can be more easily positioned within the drilled hole.

摘要： An improved implant inserter, and method of using same, with an elongated, substantially rigid shaft having a proximal surface which is capable of receiving a driving force, and a substantially rigid tip portion having a distal end and a proximal end. At least the distal end of the tip portion is capable of being placed within an implant such as a suture anchor. The inserter further includes a compliant region disposed between the tip portion and the shaft which requires less lateral force to bend than the tip portion, at least when the tip portion has been placed within the implant.
