摘要： An apparatus for use on board ship to reliquefy a compressed vapour employs pre-assemblies of components. The reliquefaction is effected in a closed cycle in which a working fluid is compressed in at least one compressor 22, 24, 26, is cooled in a first heat exchanger 40, is expanded in a turbine 28 and is warmed in a second heat exchanger 46, in which the compressed vapour is at least partially condensed. The apparatus comprises a first pre-assembly 72 including the second heat exchanger 40 and a second pre-assembly 82 including the first heat exchanger 46, the compressor 22, 24, 26 and the expansion turbine 28 are positioned. The pre-assemblies 72 and 82 are positioned on respective platforms 70 and 80.

摘要： A cryogenic turbo-expander has a rotary shaft (10) which carries a turbine wheel (6) and carries or is operatively associated with an energy dissipating means (8) and which extends axially through a sleeve (12). First race means (80, 84) surrounding the shaft (10) and housing first bearing means (82) for the shaft (10). Second race means (90, 94) surround the shaft (10) and house second bearing means (92) for the shaft (10). The first and second bearing means are axially spaced from one another. Each race (80,84; 90, 94) has an aperture (86, 96) therein extending from an outer to an inner surface thereof communicating with a lubricating oil passage (52, 56) extending from an outer surface to an inner surface of the sleeve (12). Both race means (80, 84; 90, 94) are arranged so that spent lubricating oil can pass therefrom to a common drain passage (58). The cryogenic turbo-expander additionally includes a reservoir (40) for lubricating oil communicating with the aperture (86) in the first race means (80, 84) via an intermittently-operable metering pump (50) and with the second race means (90, 94) via an intermittently operable metering pump (54).

摘要： Liquefied natural gas is stored in an insulated tank 4, typically forming part of an ocean going tanker. Boiled off vapour is compressed in a compressor 20 and at least partially condensed in a condenser 50. The resulting condensate is returned to the tank 4. The vapour is mixed with liquefied natural gas in a mixing chamber 32 upstream of the compressor 20. The liquefied natural gas so mixed with the vapour in the mixing chamber 32 is taken from the condensate or from the storage tank 4.
