摘要： A process for treating low water content carbonylation catalyst solutions which contain a rhodium component and an alkali metal component to remove metallic corrosion products is disclosed. The process comprises contacting the catalyst solution with an ion exchange resin, preferably in the lithium form, and a sufficient amount of water to decrease the concentration of alkali metal ions to optimize removal of corrosion metal products.

摘要： A novel process is disclosed for the preparation of imidazole derivatives, in particular, 1-aryl-2-(1-imidazolyl)alkyl ethers and thioethers, and more particular for the preparation of tioconazole. The preferred process involves alpha bromination of thiophene in cyclohexane, coupling with an imidazole to form the crude product, and forming the bisulfate salt thereof. The reaction utilizes less hazardous chemicals than currently employed for the production of 1-aryl-2-(1-imidazolyl)alkyl ethers and thioethers, and may be run at room temperature.

摘要： Multilayer films that include a thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer film layer and a polypropyene film layer are bound together using hot melt adhesives which may be either (1) a blend of poly(α-olefins), comprised of isotactic polypropylene, a polymer of a second lower poly(α-olefin), and a small amount of a higher poly(α-olefin), or (2) a blend of poly(propylene-graft-maleic anhydride) and a dimer acid based polyamide. These hot melt adhesives also act as compatiblizers for blends of polypropylene and thermotropic liquid crystalline polymers.

摘要： Multilayer laminates including films, sheets, preforms, containers and other articles having at least one wholly aromatic, amorphous, stretchable liquid crystalline polymer layer with at least one non-polyester thermoplastic polymer layer are provided as well as methods for producing and stretching the multilayer articles. The laminates are suitable for thermoforming and stretch blow molding applications and may be stretched at temperatures lower than the molten state of the liquid crystal polymer and at high total draw ratios without fractures or tears. Containers suitable for food or beverage products may be produced from the laminates.
