    • A wiper blade (12) includes a rubber blade (14), which wipes a wiping surface (G). The rubber blade (14) includes a base (41) and an attachment groove (50), which extends in a longitudinal direction. A backing (42), which has a predetermined rigidity and includes a central part outwardly curved opposite to the wiping surface (G), is formed from a spring material fitted into the attachment groove (50) of the rubber blade (14). An elongated holder member (13), which has a longitudinally central part coupled to a distal portion of a wiper arm (12), includes a first end (13a) and a second end (13b) at two longitudinal sides and a first holding portion (31) and a second holding portion (32), which are respectively arranged at the sides of the first end (13a) and the second end (13b). The first holding portion (31) and the second holding portion (32) hold the base (41) of the rubber blade (14). The rubber blade (14) projects in the longitudinal direction from the first and second holding portions (31, 32) of the holder member (13) thereby forming a following end portion (X) that follows a curve of the wiping surface (G). The holder member (13) includes two contact wall portions (51) extending outward in the longitudinal direction from at least one of the first holding portion (31) and the second holding portion (32) and respectively contacting two side surfaces of the following end portion (X).

    • An automatic opening-and-closing device can be obtained which can prevent a foreign object from being caught in by detecting the foreign object even if an opening/closing speed of a moving body changes or the foreign obj ect is small. An automatic sliding door device 10 detects that there is an foreign object on a locus of sliding of a door panel 14, by detecting a pushing reaction force when a pressure sensitive sensor 60 pushes the foreign object at the time of forward sliding of the door panel 14 slides forward. Hence, even if the sliding speed of the door panel 14 changes, or even if the foreign object is small, the foreign object can be detected to thereby prevent the foreign object from being caught in the door. Moreover, with the automatic sliding door device 10, a code 80 is passed through inside of the door panel 14 and connected to a lower end portion of the pressure sensitive sensor 60 via a circular hole 110 formed at a lower end portion of the door panel 14. Hence, the detection range on the upper end side of the door panel 14 can be made wider, and management of the code 80 at the time of assembly becomes easy.

A transmission mechanism (94) transmits the rotational force from the motor body (92). A clutch mechanism (10) lets the transmission mechanism (94) run idle not to transmit the rotational force from the transmission mechanism (94) to the output shaft (12) when the output shaft (12) is subjected to a torque larger than an engagement releasing torque. The engagement releasing torque is specified to a value larger than a maximum wiping torque to which the torque applied by the wiper (200) onto the output shaft (12) is estimated to reach during a normal wiping operation of the wiper (200).
