    • The bore selector includes a housing with an upper end having at least a first bore and a lower end with at least second and third bores. The housing includes a central bore extending between the upper and lower ends. A tube has its upper end connected to the first bore and its lower end adjacent the second and third bores. A yoke having an aperture therethrough for passing the tube, is reciprocably mounted within the bore of the housing. The yoke includes cam slots receiving guide lugs projecting from the sides of the tube. A hydraulic actuating means is also mounted in the lower end of the housing for reciprocating the yoke whereby as the yoke is reciprocated within the housing, the guide lugs move within the cam slots to shift the lower end of the tube between the second and third bores. A cage is mounted within the lower end of the housing to ensure alignment and sealing engagement between the lower end of the tube and the face of the housing around the second and third bores.

    • An angular and radial self-aligning coupling (30) includes a first support block (32) having a flow bore therethrough with an enlarged counterbore around one outlet of the flow bore. The enlarged counterbore forms a convex annular surface (66). A spherical seal plate (70) also having a flow bore therethrough includes a concave surface (74) on one side which matingly engages the convex annular surface (66) of the support block (32). The spherical seal plate (70) also has an annular bearing surface (79) on its other side which engages a bearing face (93) on a radial seal plate (90). The radial seal plate (90) includes a stab counterbore (76) on its other side. A second support block (34) includes a flow bore therethrough and includes a piston (140) which may be hydraulically actuated to an extended position. Upon actuation of the piston (140), the piston (140) enters the stab counterbore (76) and the radial seal plate (90) and spherical seal plate (70) automatically adjust for any radial or angular misalignment to allow the piston (140) to stab within the stab counterbore (76).

    • An improved tieback system for a subsea well and an improved tieback adapter (20) for a tieback casing string connecting from a platform to a subsea well. The tieback adapter connects to the hanger (22) and to the top end of the inner tieback casing string (18) and includes adjustable means (30) for connecting between the hanger and the inner tieback casing string. A tool (84) for moving said hanger relative to a head (14) on the upper end of the outer tieback casing string (12) and relative to the inner tieback casing string (18) and for tensioning the inner tieback casing string is provided. The adjustable connecting means has a ratcheting latch means (40,64,66) allowing such relative movement between the two tubular mandrels of the adapter and means (40,70) for preventing movement of the inner tieback casing string relative to said hanger against upward loads.
