    • The engineering solution relates to means for lighting a territory, mainly under emergency conditions. Advantageous effect of the invention is improving reliability and stability of a lighting plant, increasing convenience of carrying thereof and providing protection thereof during transportation. The advantageous effect is attained by a lighting plant comprising a base with supports, an inflatable shell secured to the base, and at least one electric lamp positioned inside the shell. The inner cavity of the shell is in communication with an air blower installed in the base. Each support has at least one joint enabling turn of the support and means for fixing the support in its working positions. The advantageous effect is also attained by a method of using the lighting plant, the method characterized in that the lighting plant is installed and secured on the power plant before the operation of deployment of the lighting plant from the transportation position into the working position is performed. The power plant is set on the ground between the supports of the lighting plant and then the slope angle of the supports and the projection length thereof are adjusted in such a way that the weight load of the lighting plant is evenly distributed over the supports and the power plant. After that the lighting plant is electrically connected to the power plant, the inflatable shell is inflated with air by means of an air blower and the lighting plant secured to the power plant is then used.

    • An illumination system includes an illumination unit (10) and a thermoelectric conversion module (30). The illumination unit (10) includes a light source (12), and a reflection plate (11) capable of radiating heat from the light source to the outer circumference of the plate. The thermoelectric conversion module includes lower and upper substrates (31A,31B), lower and upper electrodes (32A,32B) provided on the facing surfaces of the lower and upper substrates, and thermoelectric elements (33) disposed between the lower and upper electrodes (32A,32B). The lower substrate (31A) of the thermoelectric conversion module (30) is fixed to the reflection plate via a heat transfer member (21). The upper substrate (31B) of the thermoelectric conversion module (30) is connected via a heat releasing path member (41) to a support member (51) (heat absorber) having a thermal conductivity higher than that of air.

    • An illumination system (10) includes an illumination source (12) such as an array of LED's over which is provided a diffuser (16). The illumination source (12) provides light which, because of light refraction, radiates generally uniformly from edge to edge of the diffuser (16). The diffuser (16) may be a planar flat piece of may include a hollow, cup like structure formed by a frame with a cover. The illumination system may be scaled up to provide multiple such illumination devices (10) side by side to provide a greater area or strength of illumination. Multiple systems may utilize multiple diffusers (16) or a single diffuser covering multiple illumination sources. The illumination source (12) may be mounted to a backplate or heatsink (14) which is larger than the illumination source (12) to facilitate the addition of further electronic circuitry and or mounting capabilities.
