摘要： Methods and apparatus for deploying pipeline from a vessel are described in relation to pipelines with installed accessories. One or more accessory support structures are installed at appropriate bedding locations on the seabed. In deploying pipeline from a vessel, an accessory is then attached at a position along the pipeline to correspond with the pre-installed accessory support structure bedding location. The pipeline and attached accessory are deployed and guided into engagement with the pre-installed accessory support structure on the seabed such that the pipeline is deployed substantially horizontally through the accessory support structure, and the accessory is supported by the pre-installed accessory support structure at the bedding location.

摘要： A method for repairing a defective circumferential weld joint (10) between two pipe sections (12) in a pipeline is described. A weld excavation machine (20) is used to remove a weld defect. The machine (20) comprises a weld excavating tool (26) and a tool guiding apparatus (20b). The machine (20) may be modular in form allowing the machine to be dissembled into discrete portable parts (20a, 20b). The method includes arranging the tool guiding apparatus (20b) in fixed relation to the pipeline (12), guiding the weld excavating tool (26) around the pipe and along the weld joint by means of the tool guiding apparatus (20b) and using the weld excavating tool (26) to remove material from the defective weld region. An excavation may thus be formed having parallel vertical walls. The excavation is then filled with weld material by means of a welding apparatus.

This system provides a mold designed and built to suit the parameters of the subsea item to be insulated. The mold is installed around the subsea item to be insulated and then injected with a liquid solution of insulation material. The liquid solution is then allowed to solidify, forming a gel molded insulation.
