    • Techniques are disclosed herein for file sharing using remote applications. One embodiment provides a computer-implemented method that includes receiving, at a computing device, a selection of a reference for accessing the file, where the reference includes a first identifier specifying the file stored on a host server remotely located with respect to the computing device and a second identifier specifying an application that is running on the host server and that is configured to open files of a same type as the file. The method further includes establishing a remote connection to the application specified by the second identifier, by connecting to the host server and causing the application to be launched on the host server. In addition, the method includes causing the application to open the file specified by the first identifier and the user interface of the application to be remoted to the computing device.

    • An image transmission method and an apparatus are provided. The image transmission method is applied to a system in which a client device establishes a remote desktop connection to a server and includes: dividing an image according to at least two pixel scales, to obtain multiple image blocks in each pixel scale; determining a hash value of each image block in each pixel scale, querying a cache according to the hash value of each image block in each pixel scale, and setting a sending flag bit of each image block in each pixel scale according to a query result; and sending, according to the sending flag bit of each image block in each pixel scale, information about the image to the client device by using the remote desktop connection, so as to reduce redundant data with lower computation complexity and space complexity and reduce a requirement for bandwidth.

    • Systems and techniques are provided for an interface for multiple media applications. A list of features for a media application may be received, each of the features associated with a control for the media application. The features may be ranked. A template user interface including definitions for controls may be received. The definition for a control may include a position within a user interface for the control and a size of the control. Each feature from the list of features ranked above a threshold may be associated with a corresponding definition for a control in the template user interface to generate a translated interface. A feature that does not have corresponding definition for a control may not be part of the translated interface. The translated interface may be displayed to a user.

    • Embodiments of the present invention disclose a graphics data processing method, apparatus, and system. In the embodiments of the present invention, a virtual client process and a virtual rendering server may create a shared memory through negotiation. The virtual client process may send storage address information of graphics instruction data to the virtual rendering server, so that the virtual rendering server may obtain the graphics instruction data from the shared memory according to the storage address information of the graphics instruction data. The virtual rendering server may further send storage address information of target display data to the virtual client process, so that the virtual client process may obtain the target display data from the shared memory according to the storage address information of the target display data. In this way, the graphics instruction data or the target display data or both do not need to be directly transmitted through a network transmission channel between the virtual client process and the virtual rendering server. This shortens a transmission delay, decreases bandwidth of the transmission channel, and improves graphics processing performance.
