    • An apparatus (1) for conveying belt-like tyre component members (8), in particularly in the form of rubber belting, to a shaping drum (2) comprises a belt conveyor (6) having a driving drum (4) and a driven drum (5) with a continuous conveyor belt (6) installed thereon and driving control means (7) for the driving drum (4) which controls its rotational speed, the conveyor belt (6) having a reverse surface with at least one toothed portion (12,) which protrudes from the reverse surface at a predetermined position of the width thereof and extends without interruption in the lengthwise direction of the belt and a driving drum (4) which has teeth (14,) formed on the periphery thereof at a position or positions corresponding to the toothed portion(s) of the conveyor belt so as to mesh therewith. In preferred practice, there is provided in the conveyor belt (6) a plurality of air holes (11) in communication with an air chamber(9b) which is disposed under the conveyor belt (6). Air is supplied to and discharged from the air chamber (9b) by a blower (24).

    • A belt-shaped member supplying method and apparatus are used for cutting a long material (1) paid out of a winding roll into a belt-shaped member (s) of a predetermined length and supplying the belt-shaped member onto a winding drum (10) by means of a transfer device (9). The method includes steps of modifying an extending direction of a front edge of a long material, whose initial front end portion has been cut off, into a desired direction by applying an external force upon a front end portion of the long material, holding the front end portion of the long material, paying out the long material of a predetermined length, cutting the paid long material to form a belt-shaped member, modifying an extending direction of a rear edge of the belt-shaped member into a desired direction by applying an external force upon a rear end portion of the belt-shaped member, holding the rear end portion of the belt-shaped member, transferring the entire belt-shaped member to a predetermined position, taking up any slack of the belt-shaped member, holding the belt-shaped member against a plate-shaped transfer device (9), and moving the plate-shaped transfer device together with the belt-shaped member to the winding drum.

    • A method and an apparatus are provided for aligning a belt-like member, wherein a belt-like member (15b) prepared by cutting a raw material (15) of the belt-like member on a conveyor (12) at two locations with inclined cuts, is conveyed by the conveyor, wrapped around a cylindrical drum (1) and stuck to the drum. The inclination angle of the line of cut at the leading end of the belt-like member is measured at the time of cutting, the inclination angle of the line of cut at the trailing end is measured at the time of cutting, and by comparing the inclination of the cut line at the trailing end with the inclination angle at the leading end, an amount of correction for the inclination angle is calculated. After cutting at the trailing end, the trailing end portion is attracted and held by an attracting device (120), and by rotating this attracting device on the basis of the aforementioned amount of correction for the inclination angle, the inclination angle of the line of cut at the trailing end is corrected so as to coincide with the inclination angle of the cut line at the leading end. While maintaining this corrected condition, the belt-­like member (15b) is wrapped around the cylindrical drum (1) for sticking the ends together.
