摘要： A wheelchair system is provided for use with conventional passenger vehicles. The system includes a wheelchair frame for supporting a conventional seat of the vehicle thereon for rolling movement along the ground. The wheelchair frame includes a lift frame which permits the seat to be supported thereon at various heights and inclinations relative to the ground. A portable ramp permits the wheelchair frame to be rolled in and out of the vehicle. A docking system mounts in place of conventional existing floor anchors in the floor of the vehicle for securing the wheelchair frame thereon in a transport position. The use of the wheelchair frame and the docking system permits a vehicle such as a mini-van to be adapted to transport a disabled person requiring the use of a wheelchair, with no structural modification required to the vehicle while providing a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing seat for the disabled person.

摘要： A wheel chair (1) is secured in a vehicle, like a minibus, the wheel chair being provided with fittings (3) with engaging means, which can engage and be fixed by jaws in two sets of jaws on a device (4) mounted on the base (2) of the bus. The engaging means on the fittings (3) and the openings between the jaws are designed with cross sections, which generally do not vary in the direction of travel (11) of the wheel chair. Thus the engaging means on the fittings (3) can be engaged in the sets of jaws by advancing the wheel chair in the directon of travel (11). The set of jaws are mutually spaced crosswise to the direction of travel (11), and the fittings (3) are designed to being fastened mutually spaced apart in pairs on the wheel chair (1) near the areas where the wheels (8), which carry the greatest weight load of the wheel chair (1), are mounted to the chair (1). Thus a strong and safe securing of the chair to the base (2) of the bus is obtained, the fittings (3) and the device (4) also being suitable for use with a collapsible wheel chair.

摘要： A wheelchair locator is proposed for use mainly in vehicles which are designed for able-bodied passengers but are capable of being adapted to carry a wheelchair passenger who remains in his wheelchair. An inertia reel (9) controls a retractable flexible safety belt (10) which has attachments (12) to secure it releasably to the frame of the wheelchair. The occupant of the wheelchair pulls the belt against the retracting force and attaches it to convenient spaced points on the chair; then when the belt pulls the chair securely against a supporting surface the reel is locked and the chair is held in place. In a taxi the locking and unlocking of the reel may be controlled by the driver.
