摘要： Fibers for fiber-reinforced resin of the present invention are fibers for fiber-reinforced resin to which a sizing agent is adhered. The fibers are at least one selected from carbon fibers and glass fibers, and an ester bond (-COO-) generated by denaturation of the sizing agent is present on surfaces of the fibers. A method for producing the same according to the present invention includes: subjecting fibers to which a sizing agent is adhered to at least one treatment selected from the group consisting of ozone oxidation, ultraviolet irradiation at a wavelength of 400 nm or less, and a plasma treatment. The fibers are at least one selected from carbon fibers and glass fibers. Thus, it is possible to provide carbon fibers having enhanced wettability to a matrix resin and thereby allowing the matrix resin to be impregnated between the fibers easily.

摘要： The invention relates to polymeric systems for stabilizing, storing and delivering hypohalide salts. One system consists of material coated with two layers: one prepared from polyethylene glycol epoxide and melamine solution and second prepared from inorganic hypohalide salt solution. The material can be fabric, cotton, bamboo, cellulosic materials, blend of cellulosic and synthetic fibers. Antimicrobial materials comprising this system are also described. Another system consists of material containing pre-formed spaces coated with water-polyethylene glycol solution of hypohalide salt and encapsulated by film forming polymer. Hypohalide salts within both systems are in some cases storage stable for at least three months.

摘要： Provided are: chopped carbon fiber bundles which have high fluidity without decreasing the dispersibility of carbon fibers and the physical properties of a molded product; and a method for producing chopped carbon fiber bundles with high productivity. Chopped carbon fiber bundles, each of which contain a carbon fiber bundle having a total fineness of from 25,000 dtex to 45,000 dtex (inclusive) and a sizing agent in an amount of from 1% by mass to 5% by mass (inclusive) relative to the total mass of the chopped carbon fiber bundle. The length (L) of each chopped carbon fiber bundle along the fiber direction of the carbon fiber bundle is from 1 mm to 50 mm (inclusive); the ratio of the longest diameter (Dmax) to the shortest diameter (Dmin) of a cross section perpendicular to the fiber direction of each chopped carbon fiber bundle, namely Dmax/Dmin is from 6.0 to 18.0 (inclusive); and the orientation parameter of the single fibers present in the surface of each chopped carbon fiber bundle is 4.0 or less.

摘要： Provided are sizing agent-coated carbon fibers that achieve excellent adhesion between the carbon fibers and a matrix resin and yield a prepreg having excellent stability of composite physical properties after long-term storage and having excellent high-order processability, a process for producing the sizing agent-coated carbon fibers, a prepreg, and a carbon fiber reinforced composite material. The present invention provides carbon fibers coated with a sizing agent that includes an aliphatic epoxy compound (A) and at least an aromatic epoxy compound (B1) as an aromatic compound (B). The carbon fibers have an (a)/(b) ratio of 0.50 to 0.90 where (a) is the height (cps) of a component at a binding energy (284.6 eV) assigned to CHx, C-C, and C=C and (b) is the height (cps) of a component at a binding energy (286.1 eV) assigned to C-O in a C 1s core spectrum of the surface of the sizing agent analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy using AlK± 1,2 as the X-ray source at a photoelectron takeoff angle of 15°.

摘要： To provide a prepreg and a carbon fiber reinforced composite material that are excellent in adhesion between a matrix resin and carbon fibers and long-term storage stability and also excellent in microcrack resistance due to the increased toughness. The present invention provides a prepreg that includes; agent-coated carbon fibers coated with a sizing agent; and a thermosetting resin composition impregnated into the sizing agent-coated carbon fibers. The sizing agent includes an aliphatic epoxy compound (A) and an aromatic epoxy compound (B1). The sizing agent-coated carbon fibers are in a shape of woven fabric or braid. The thermosetting resin composition includes a thermosetting resin (D), a thermoplastic resin (F), and a latent hardener (G). The sizing agent-coated carbon fibers have an (a)/(b) ratio in a certain range where (a) is the height of a component at a binding energy assigned to CHx, C-C, and C=C and (b) is the height of a component at a binding energy assigned to C-O in a C 1s core spectrum of the surfaces of the sizing agent-coated carbon fibers analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

摘要： Disclosed is a method for producing carbon fibers which exhibit excellent adhesion to a matrix resin and have excellent processability. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a sizing agent-coated carbon fibers, wherein at least one kind of sizing agent that is selected from the group consisting of sizing agents (a), (b) and (c) described below is used for coating, in each of said sizing agents a bi- or higher functional epoxy compound (A1) and/or an epoxy compound (A2) being used as a component (A), and said epoxy compound (A2) having a mono- or higher functional epoxy group and at least one functional group that is selected from among a hydroxyl group, an amide group, an imide group, a urethane group, a urea group, a sulfonyl group and a sulfo group. The method for producing a sizing agent-coated carbon fibers is characterized in that the sizing agent is applied to carbon fibers and the resulting is subjected to a heat treatment within the temperature range of 160-260°C for 30-600 seconds. (a) A sizing agent which is obtained by blending at least 0.1-25 parts by mass of a tertiary amine compound and/or tertiary amine salt (B1) having a molecular weight of 100 g/mol or more per 100 parts by mass of the component (A), said tertiary amine compound and/or tertiary amine salt (B1) being used as a component (B). (b) A sizing agent which is obtained by blending at least 0.1-25 parts by mass of a quaternary ammonium salt (B2) having a cationic moiety represented by general formula (I) or (II) per 100 parts by mass of the component (A), said quaternary ammonium salt (B2) being used as a component (B). (In the formulae, R 1 -R 5 each represents a hydrocarbon group having 1-22 carbon atoms, a group that contains a hydrocarbon having 1-22 carbon atoms and an ether structure, a group that contains a hydrocarbon having 1-22 carbon atoms and an ester structure, or a group that contains a hydrocarbon having 1-22 carbon atoms and a hydroxyl group; and R 6 and R 7 each represents a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group having 1-8 carbon atoms, a group that contains a hydrocarbon having 1-8 carbon atoms and an ether structure, or a group that contains a hydrocarbon having 1-8 carbon atoms and an ester structure.)
