摘要： A transmission method for transmitting modulation signals of a plurality of channels to the same frequency band from a plurality of antennas. At the time when a demodulation symbol (101) is inserted in a channel, in another channel symbol (109), the same phase and quadrature signals in the in-phase - quadrature plane are made to be zero signals. Thus, a plurality of modulation signals are multiplexed and transmitted and the transmitted multiplexed modulation signals are demultiplexed and demodulated at a reception apparatus, thereby improving the data transmission rate.

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) performs space time transmit diversity (STTD) encoding on an input stream of a physical channel configured for STTD. Each physical channel may be mapped to either an in-phase (I) branch or a quadrature-phase (Q) branch. The WTRU may perform the STTD encoding either in a binary domain or in a complex domain. Additionally, the WTRU may perform pre-coding on at least one physical channel including the E-DPDCH with the pre-coding weights, and transmitting the pre-coded output streams via a plurality of antennas. The pre-coding may be performed either after or before spreading operation.

摘要： A method for transmitting pilot signals used for measuring and reporting channel state information, CSI, in a multiple input/multiple output, MIMO, system (100). The method comprises the steps of: dividing a set of sub-channels into multiple subsets of sub-channels, wherein the set of sub-channels is defined over an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol; assigning to each subset of sub-channels a sequence of pilot symbols to be transmitted; generating orthogonal pilot signals by encoding two or more subsequent OFDM symbols with an orthogonal code; assigning one or more orthogonal pilot signals to a transmit antenna or communication link; and transmitting said OFDM symbols via said transmit antenna or communication link.
