    • Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques for providing an augmented reality view in which eye movements are employed to identify items of possible interest for which indicators are visually presented in the augmented reality view. An apparatus to present an augmented reality view includes a processor component; a presentation component for execution by the processor component to visually present images captured by a camera on a display, and to visually present an indicator identifying an item of possible interest in the captured images on the display overlying the visual presentation of the captured images; and a correlation component for execution by the processor component to track eye movement to determine a portion of the display gazed at by an eye, and to correlate the portion of the display to the item of possible interest. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

    • A chromatic-difference-free wide-angle camera for a head-mounted device, comprising a casing, a biconvex plus lens (1), and a biconcave minus lens (2). The biconvex plus lens (1) and the biconcave minus lens (2) are arranged in parallel in the casing and the biconcave minus lens (2) is closer to an object space. The biconvex plus lens (1) comprises a first surface (3) that is convex toward the object space, and a second surface (4) that has a flat edge and a center position that is convex toward an image space. The biconcave minus lens (2) comprises a third surface (5) that is concave toward the object space, and a fourth surface (6) that has a flat edge and a center position that is concave toward the image space. The biconcave minus lens (2) can move along an axis of the casing to adjust a distance to the biconvex plus lens (1), and compensate for a defocus in a zooming manner. The head-mounted device is suitable for being used with naked eyes by persons having -500 degree nearsightedness to 500 degree farsightedness. In use, a user can adjust the focal length according to his degree of nearsightedness or farsightedness to achieve a clear imaging without changing the conjugated distance between the human eyes and the screen.

    • A display device is provided with: a display means that is mounted on a vehicle, that displays a virtual image of a picture by projecting, on a windshield, display light representing the picture, and that emits the display light; an identification means that identifies a target (W) outside the vehicle; a control means that causes a first captured image (Va), visually recognized as being superposed on at least a part of the target (W), to be displayed in the picture; and a vibration detection means that detects the amount of vibration of the vehicle. The control means, when the amount of vibration detected by the vibration detection means exceeds a threshold value, causes a second captured image (Vb) to be displayed instead of the first captured image (Va). The second captured image (Vb) is an image of which a color shade difference between pixels configuring an image end and a region outside the image and adjacent to the image end is decreased compared with the first captured image (Va). In this way, even if a position error is caused between a predetermined object and a captured image displayed while being superposed on the object, a sense of discomfort that a viewer may feel can be decreased.
