    • A valve stem connector comprises a first half and a second half, each of which includes a top section adapted to receive a portion of an actuator and a bottom section adapted to receive a portion of a valve stem. A plurality of cut-away sections is disposed in each of the first and second halves, and a pair of shear web installation sites is disposed between the plurality of cut-away sections on each of the first and second halves. A force measurement device is disposed in each shear web installation site of the pair of shear web installation sites, the force measurement device for measuring the strain on the valve stem. Each shear web installation site has a shear strain measurable by the force measurement device, and the plurality of cut-away sections allows for a bending beam near each pocket to minimize deflection.

    • A strapping device for a pipe and methods of using the strapping device to non-invasively detect pressure inside the pipe and the residual stress exerted on the pipe. The strapping device includes a linked or a solid band adapted to be fitted around an outside diameter of the pipe. The strapping device further includes a sensor for measuring at least one of a change in the outside diameter of the pipe due to a corresponding change in pressure inside the pipe and to detect the stress or strain transferred from the pipe. The measurements can be conveniently processed in a circuit board coupled to the strapping device or in a remote location. The measurements can be transmitted through wires or digitally transmitted to the circuit board.

    • The invention relates to a pressure detector and a method of assembling the same. The pressure detector (10) includes: a case (14) provided with a hole portion (14a) formed through a bottom surface (14b) of the case (14) to allow gas inside a tire (102) to pass through; a plurality of support pillar members (16) standing on the bottom surface (14b) of the case (14); a circuit board (12) including: a sensor IC (110) provided with a detection aperture (110a) mounted on a lower surface of the circuit board (12) facing the bottom surface (14b) of the case (14); and a plurality of mounting holes (12a) into which tapered portions (16a) of the support pillar members (16) are insertable; and a packing (18) provided with a through hole (18a) connecting an upper surface to a lower surface of the packing. The case (14) and the circuit board (12) are fixed by a resin with the packing (18) being sandwiched between the case (14) and the sensor IC (110).
