摘要： According to the present invention there is provided a method for making lithographic printing plates including the following steps:

a) preparing a light sensitive imaging element having on a lithographic base with a hydrophilic surface a first layer including a polymer, soluble in an aqueous alkaline solution and a top layer on the same side of the lithographic base as the first layer which top layer is unpenetrable for an alkaline developer containing SiO 2 as silicate;
b) exposing imagewise said light sensitive imaging element to actinic light;
c) developing said imagewise exposed light sensitive imaging element with said alkaline developer so that the exposed areas of the top layer and the underlying areas of the first layer are dissolved and the unexposed areas of the first layer remain undissolved characterized in that said top layer includes a diazonium salt and for at least 20% of its weight one or more non-proteinic hydrophilic film-forming polymers.

摘要： Die Erfindung betrifft ein Aufzeichnungsmaterial mit einem Schichtträger und einer strahlungsempfindlichen, wasserunlöslichen Schicht, die eine IR-Strahlung absorbierende Komponente enthält und nach Einwirkung von Infrarotstrahlung in einem wäßrig-alkalischen Entwickler löslich oder zumindest quellbar wird. Auf der strahlungsempfindlichen Schicht befindet sich eine Deckschicht, die für Weißlicht undurchlässig, für Strahlung im IR-Bereich dagegen durchlässig ist und sich mit Wasser oder einer wäßrigen Lösung entfernen läßt. Das Aufzeichnungsmaterial ist weitgehend unempfindlich gegenüber Tageslicht. Durch bildmäßiges Bestrahlen mit IR-Strahlung und anschließendes Entwickeln mit einem wäßrig-alkalischen Entwickler läßt sich aus dem Aufzeichnungsmaterial eine Druckform für den Offsetdruck herstellen. Wird die Deckschicht vorher abgewaschen, dann kann die Bebilderung auch mit konventioneller UV-Strahlung erfolgen.

摘要： According to the present invention there is provided a heat-sensitive imaging element for making positive working lithographic printing plates comprising on a lithographic base a layer comprising a polymer, soluble in an aqueous alkaline solution and an IR-radiation sensitive top layer. Upon image-wise exposure the capacity of the aqueous alkaline solution to penetrate and/or solubilise the top layer is changed. Image-wise exposure can be performed with an infrared laser with a short as well as with a long pixel well time.
The obtained positive working printing plates have excellent printing properties and an improved infrared sensitivity.

One type of construction involves ablation-type printing members, wherein pulses from a heat source ablate one or more layers to expose (or facilitate exposure of by cleaning). A second type of construction utilizes traditional photoexposure-type layers that harden or increase adhesion to adjacent layers in response to actinic radiation. The compressible layer is typically located below the radiation-responsive or imaging layer, but may also serve as that layer.

摘要： A (photo)thermographic material is provided, capable of being used to produce a lithographic printing plate, comprising a support, a hydrophobic thermosensitive layer and a hydrophilic surface adjoining the hydrophobic thermosensitive layer, the thermosensitive layer containing an ingredient A, for example a substantially light-insensitive organic silver salt, which upon negative or positive image-wise heating reacts with at least one other ingredient B, for example a reducing agent therefor, in thermal working relationship therewith, producing a moiety which changes the adhesion between the thermosensitive layer and an adjoining hydrophilic surface.
The thermographic material is rendered photothermographic by incorporating a photosensitive agent in said hydrophobic thermosensitive layer which after exposure is capable of catalyzing said reaction between said ingredient A and said ingredient B to produce said moiety which changes the adhesion between said hydrophobic thermosensitive layer and said adjoining hydrophilic surface.
