摘要： A problem is to provide a production method by which a high-strength concrete formed body can be obtained. The problem can be solved by a method for producing a concrete formed body including a defoaming step [1] of holding a concrete composition having a water-cement ratio adjusted to from 14 to 20%, in a reduced pressure atmosphere to obtain a defoamed concrete; a defoaming step [2] of holding a carbon fiber immersed in a cement solution having a water-cement ratio adjusted to 14% or more, in a reduced pressure atmosphere to obtain a defoamed fiber; and a forming step of placing the defoamed concrete and the defoamed fiber within a shuttering, followed by curing to obtain a high-strength concrete formed body.

In one embodiment, a tray assembly (120) includes a tray body (122) having a supporting surface (129) operable to support a ceramic article (112) for passage through a microwave drying apparatus (132) during a microwave drying process and a microwave coupling cover (124) associated with the tray body (128). The microwave coupling cover (124) envelopes at least a portion of the ceramic article (112) during the microwave drying process. The microwave coupling cover (124) has a dielectric property such that a greater percentage of microwave energy is coupled into the ceramic article (112) with the microwave coupling cover (124) present during the microwave drying process than with the microwave coupling cover (124) not present. Methods may include rotating the ceramic article when the ceramic article is about 40%- 60 dry.

摘要： Methods for drying ceramic materials are provided. In one embodiment, a first power set-point of a first microwave applicator of a drying apparatus is determined. Power set-points for at least two additional microwave applicators in the drying apparatus are determined such that a power distribution among the microwave applicators provides an energy per unit of water profile for the additional microwave applicators that is substantially uniform. The microwave applicators may be operated at the determined power set-points as the ceramic material is passed through the drying apparatus.

The method reduces bending and deformation of the honeycomb structure.

摘要： An apparatus and method for stiffening an wet extruded ceramic body for improved handling prior to drying and firing. The ceramic body is formed from a plastically deformable material including inorganic raw materials, and organics, such as a binder having a thermal gel point. As the ceramic body log exits the extruder die it is passed through a microwave energy field to be heated to above the gelling point of the organic binder. The ceramic body then stiffens and can be easily handled without deformation.
