    • The present invention relates to a plasma torch with a structure capable of performing reversed polarity/straight polarity operation, and the purpose of the present invention is to increase the disposal volume of varied (conductive, non-conductive, etc.) waste such as radioactive waste, industrial waste, etc., through a high temperature melting operation. The present invention, configured for the purpose, provides a plasma torch, which is combined to and installed on a melter, generates and maintains a plasma arc between electrodes and melts waste materials such as radioactive waste or industrial waste, the plasma torch comprising: a rear electrode, which is installed inside a torch pipe and is electrically connected to become one of an anode and a cathode; and a front electrode, which is installed at the front end of the torch pipe so as to be adjacent to the front end of the rear electrode, and is electrically connected to become a remaining one of the anode and the cathode, wherein the electrical connections of the rear electrode and the front electrode are switchable with each other so that the plasma torch operates as a reversed polarity plasma torch or a straight polarity plasma torch.

    • The present invention relates to a Marinelli beaker correction container for stable radionuclide analysis, and the purpose of the present invention is to allow the Marinelli beaker to be stably mounted on a high purity germanium gamma spectroscopy system (HPGe) by having a beaker correction container, which seals a space to be generated by a difference in diameter between the contact surface of the spectroscopy system at the lower part of the Marinelli beaker and the spectroscopy system.     • A long-lifespan in-core instrument having an extended lifespan due to an enhanced combustion lifespan of an emitter according to the present invention comprises: a central tube; an outer sheath tube distanced from the outer circumferential surface of the central tube; self-powered neutron detectors placed between the central tube and outer sheath tube, and each comprising an emitter of a material having a reaction cross section with neutron that is comparatively smaller than that of rhodium; a background detector for compensating for the background noise signal; core exit thermocouples for detecting the core exit temperature; and filler wires filling in the space between the self-powered neutron detectors, background detector and core exit thermocouples, and as such, the present invention can markedly reduce the amount of spent in-core instrument waste, which is high-level radioactive material, and thus can contribute in securing a utility space for the high-level waste material, as well as in reducing radiation exposure of the nuclear power plant personnel.
