摘要： A method of making a sound reduction enclosure (10) for encapsulating a sound source (13), the method including taking a composite comprising a fibrous porous layer (14) and a thin, air impermeable, barrier layer (16), heating the composite and compressing the hot composite generally perpendicular to the interface between the porous layer (14) and the barrier layer (16) to form a tuned porous layer (14) by reducing the thickness and increasing the stiffness of the porous layer (14) to levels pre-determined using an upper frequency of the sound normally emitted by the sound source, and shaping the hot composite to form an enclosure (10) which at least partially encloses an interior space (12) in which the sound source (13) may, in use, be positioned.
