    • [Issue] Simplify battery protection circuitry and improve reliability in a power source apparatus formed by combining a plurality of modules.
      [Method of Resolution] The power source apparatus enables each battery pack 20 to be charged with power supplied from an external charging power supply CP, and allows power stored in each battery pack 20 to be output externally. Each battery pack 20 is provided with battery pack fault output terminals DA, DO, DI to send battery pack error signals to other battery packs 20 or to the protection unit 2 when a malfunction occurs. The protection unit 2 is provided with protection unit input-output terminals HI to connect with battery pack fault output terminals DA, DO, DI, and a protection circuit capable of cutting-off battery pack 20 current. When a battery pack 20 malfunction occurs, a battery pack error signal is output from the battery pack fault output terminals DA, DO, DI to the protection unit input-output terminals HI. When the protection unit 2 detects a battery pack error signal, the protection circuit cuts-off current.
