摘要： The invention pertains to sheet-like absorbents for water and aqueous solutions, containing A) at least one water-swellable, synthetic and/or natural superabsorbent polymer and B) at least one water-soluble, synthetic and/or natural polymer in the form of a sheet-like matrix, into or onto which the superabsorbent component A) is bonded with a defined distribution. The sheet-like absorbents have increased power to absorb water and aqueous fluids, especially under load. They are produced by forming a sheet-like matrix from the water-soluble synthetic and/or natural polymers B) and adding to these the water-swellable synthetic and/or natural superabsorber A), e.g. by applying a solution of matrix B) to a surface, sprinkling component A) thereon and drying the resulting flat structure. Such sheet-like absorbents are used in hygienic products, as components in natural or artificial soils, as insulating material for pipes and lines, especially cables, and building units, as liquid-absorbing and -retaining components in packing materials, incorporated in clothing and as stores for controlled release of an active substance.

The present invention can provide the split yarn having a network structure and obtained by splitting a uniaxially stretched PTFE film in the stretched direction with a needle blade roll; the filament having branches and obtained by cutting the network structure of the split yarn in a longitudinal direction; the methods of production thereof; the method of producing the cotton-like materials by cutting the split yarn or filament and then opening; and a filter cloth for dust collection obtained from the cotton-like materials.

At least one side of the base (40), the side which will be on the inside of the belt and which slides over the pressure shoe (14) is coated with a polymeric resin, such as polyurethane, to protect it from wear and render it impervious to oil and water. The coating (54) is ground and buffed to provide the belt (16) with a smooth surface and a uniform thickness.
