摘要： A system for the production of a dynamic image for use in holography includes a light source (16) which travels via a liquid crystal modulator (18) placed in the path of the light source (16). The output of the LC modulator (18) passes modulated light through a lens array (22) which itself guides light to an optically addressed spatial light modulator (24). The resulting real image from the optically addressed spatial light modulator (24) may be used in holography. The addressing frame-rate of the liquid crystal modulator (18) is substantially greater than the frame-rate of the optically addressed spatial light modulator (24).

The hologram viewing apparatus comprises a housing (20) enclosing a light source (21) which illuminates a screen located in or on a wall of the housing (20), the screen consisting of at least a plane grating (28).
The integral direct viewing hologram device comprises a venetian blind film (10) having a hologram (11) embossed on or bonded onto one surface and a plane grating (28) embossed or bonded onto the other surface. The device can be direct viewed in white light and a multi-coloured image can be produced by the provision of a plurality of holograms (11, 12) which are made using different coloured light.
The article useful in the manufacture of hologram devices comprises a venetian blind film embossed on one side with a plane grating.

Using the projection apparatus, at least one virtual optical point is generated, or a plurality of optical points are generated such that they form at least one optical wavefront, each virtual optical point being generated by the superposition of at least two coherent light waves in the region of the at least one angle-amplifying optical hologram set, and the at least one optical hologram set is used to image the at least one virtual point or the at least one optical wavefront onto the eyes of the at least one user. The respective movements of the eyes of the at least one user can be detected by the eye detection apparatus and the latter cooperates with the projection apparatus in such a way that the amount of image information is adapted according to the respective alignment of the eye and/or position of the eye in different perception regions of each eye.

The spatial light modulator receives the holographic data, wherein the spatial light modulator spatially-modulates the received light in accordance with the holographic data. The second cylindrical lens, which may be a physical lens, receives the spatially-modulated light from the spatial light modulator and performs a one dimensional Fourier transform of the received light in a second direction, orthogonal to the first direction. The arrangement is intended to reduce intense unwanted zero-order (DC order) light from the reconstructed image, such that it is limited to only part 707 of the holographic reconstruction plane 705.

The method comprises combining Fourier domain data representative of a 2D image with Fourier domain data having a first lensing effect (604a) to produce first holographic data. Light is spatially modulated (504,603a) with the first holographic data to form a first spatially modulated light beam. The first spatially modulated light beam is redirected using the optical element (502,602) by illuminating a first region (607) of the optical element (602) with the first spatially modulated beam. The first lensing effect (604a) compensates for the optical power of the optical element in the first region (607).
