摘要： A bi-stable magnetic switch assembly comprises a stator having an axis and first and second magnetic portions angularly disposed there around, and a rotor having at least one magnetic region attracted to the first and second portions. The rotor is configured for rotation about the axis between (1) a first latched position wherein the region resides proximate to, but is spaced apart from, the first portion; and (2) a second latched position wherein the region resides proximate to, but is spaced apart from, the second portion. A spring biases the rotor to a position where the region resides intermediate the first and second portions. A coil, which is associated with at least one of the first portion, the second portion, and the region, may be energized to reduce the force of attraction between the region and the first and second portions when in the first and second latched positions, respectively.

摘要： An optical variable attenuator 1 has a planar waveguide 2, which is provided with optical waveguides 3 forming an input optical line A and an output optical line B. A cantilever 6 is disposed at the upper face of the planar waveguide 2, whereas a movable mirror 8 for reflecting light passing through the input optical line A toward the output optical line B is secured to the leading end part of the cantilever. An electrode 9 is disposed at the upper face of the planar waveguide 2. The cantilever 6 and the electrode 9 are connected to each other by way of a voltage source 11. The voltage source 11 applies a voltage between the cantilever 6 and the electrode 9, so as to generate an electrostatic force therebetween, which flexes the leading end side of the cantilever 6 toward the electrode. As a consequence, the movable mirror 8 moves toward the electrode.

摘要： The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling light from a light source (1) to a lighting location. A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises precisely one central light source (1) which is connected to a plurality of light guides (4) via a control unit (3), each of said light guides being terminated at a remote point. The control unit comprises a plurality of electrically controlled microshutters (14, 15), each of which has at least two states, an open state and a closed state, from which the light is conducted further on to the light location or locations via optical guides in the open state of the diaphragms. The light may thus be distributed by means of the control unit (3) to the individual light guides (4) in response to control signals supplied to the control unit.
