摘要： A safety valve for use in a wellbore formed in an earth formation, comprising a valve body (6) having a fluid passage for passage of a stream of hydrocarbon fluid flowing from the earth formation via the wellbore to the earth surface, a closure member (18) movable relative to the valve body between an open position in which the fluid passage (12) is open and a closed position in which the closure member closes the fluid passage, and an activating device (30) for selectively subjecting the closure member (18) to a drag force of selected magnitude, the drag force being exerted by the stream of fluid and inducing the closure member to move from the open position to the closed position thereof. The safety valve further comprises control means (46) for controlling the activating device to subject the closure member to said drag force.

摘要： A method of drilling a wellbore includes drilling the wellbore through a formation by injecting drilling fluid through a drill string and rotating a drill bit. The drill string includes a shifting tool, a receiver in communication with the shifting tool, and the drill bit. The method further includes retrieving the drill string from the wellbore through a casing string until the shifting tool reaches an actuator. The casing string includes an isolation valve in an open position and the actuator. The method further includes sending a wireless instruction signal to the receiver. The shifting tool engages the actuator in response to the receiver receiving the instruction signal. The method further includes operating the actuator using the engaged shifting tool, thereby closing the isolation valve and isolating the formation from an upper portion of the wellbore.

The invention also comprises a production liner containing a valve.

摘要： A method of assembly is for a string of drilling elements for deepwater drilling. Each drilling element includes an axial through hole, through which drilling mud can flow, and two connection portions for connecting it in series in the string. The method includes assembling a lower portion of the string, assembling a first drilling element with other drilling devices to create a first section of the string. These steps are repeated until the lower portion is proximate the blowout preventer or the bottom. Assembly of second drilling elements begins while executing a drilling cycle for creating at least a second section of the string. The assembly step is repeated until the second section extends equal to a desired drilling depth. After assembling the lower portion and before assembling the first drilling element, a third drilling element is assembled, which includes an obstruction element for preventing backflow in the string.

摘要： A technique facilitates regulation of flow through a flow control device to improve a well operation, such as a production operation. The technique utilizes a flow control device which has a valve positioned in a housing for movement between flow positions. The different flow positions allow different levels of flow through a primary flow port. At least one flow regulation element, e.g. a Venturi based flow regulation element, is used in a control line in communication with the valve to establish a differential pressure acting on the valve. The differential pressure is a function of fluid properties and is used to autonomously actuate the flow control device to an improved flow position.

摘要： The pulse-tool is used when injecting liquid into a borehole in the ground. When a pulse-valve of the tool opens, liquid passes through from an accumulator to the ground formation, whereby the accumulator pressure falls and the formation pressure rises. When the pulse-valve closes, the accumulator pressure rises and the formation pressure falls. The pulse-valve is driven to open when the pressure differential (PDAF) reaches a high-threshold, at which the PDAF overcomes a biasing force acting to hold the pulse-valve closed. The biasing force is provided by a pair of magnets, in attraction mode. When the PDAF reaches its high-threshold, and the magnets separate, the magnetic attraction force decreases rapidly. This characteristic helps the pulse-valve to open very rapidly, e.g explosively, creating an energetic penetrative shock-wave out into the formation.
